Friday YAY!
Tis Friday! In the world of normal this is a good thing, but in the world of the hourly paid/student/mother/housewife/wouldbenovelist it is not all it's cracked up to be because...
Friday is the day before Saturday

is
the day when I have to
wash the school uniforms do the shopping and the rest of the washing clean the house sort out the kids' homework sort out my own homework mark the assignments I collected today plan next week's teaching do the evaluations on this week's teaching and...
breathe
write a conference paper and read the books I need to read to write the conference paper and have the thoughts I need to have to write the conference paper and
breathe
and make hubby happy and children happy and
breathe
and there's only 2 More Fridays before Conference Oh NO!
Ahhhh!
Had an idea. I'm going to be talking about writer's block so...
I think I will give everyone a handout with NOTHING on it and say
this is what writer's block looks like
and look back at them for 20 minutes and show them this and say
this is how writer's block feels...

LOL--Love the thought about demonstrating writer's block!
Have a good weekend--regardless of all the stuff that still (and always) needs to be done.

Well - first wash is on, and kitchen's been done, and am at my desk ploughing through the email...
today is a day of writing and reading and of words
*tells herself and almost believes it*
watch that word count!
If you need a diversion there's a funny link on 'Barbara Bleeeuurgh'which stopped me in my tracks...make your own bayeux tapestry...
I don't suppose you needed a diversion though...
Don't strick knives in your head...that's just silly and means some poor paramedic has to come and pick up the pieces!!!!! ;-))
I'm spending the weekend doing nothing.......i'll be almost glad to get back to work as the boredom is just so boring!
humph! diversions! Spent all morning re-reading stuff and just got 'into it' and wrote 500+ words when teenager slinks into room and asks for a lift her mate's house - thus breaking the spell of creativity.
Did you see JK Rowling on Jonathan Ross last night? She said she was writing in a hotel room alone (that wasn't her point but it was the one I picked up on!). ALONE? In a hotel room? Now that's what I need!!!
But might just go and make own tapestry about writing and disturbances and then sew it to my family's face!
I was just musing about writer's retreats when I read that! Their faces...cor they should keep out of your way! :-)
I know - I'm just being melodramatic... I wouldn't really *evil cackles*
