That's quite upsetting news...who do I ring?
Isn't it tempting to search about and find out what happens? :-)
I remember being devestated when Ginger died in Black Beauty and would have loved to have talked it through with someone but Childline? I thought they had enough problems dealing with calls from abused children....Waterstones should have a helpline not Childline.
Glad you have your girl back. I can only drive an automatic so would have kittens if presented with a 'stick' car!
Err...do you know what happens in HP?:)
jon - absolutely! Actually, my little one had nightmares after seeing the film Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix - I'm thinking we should perhaps sue?!
fiona - that was such a sad book! try Mr God this is Anna - now that is devastating at any age! Waterstones with a helpline - that's too funny. I can just imagine it.
re hp - if i knew i wouldn't tell ya :P and spoil the story?!! I do have a horrid feeling I know what it might be though - to provoke such a reaction...
Goes to show what a profound impact books and movies have on children's lives.
True Vanilla, it does, and I'm not knocking the very real upset that a book can cause... but it also goes to show just how shielded from death our kids are (and us adults!). And besides, I thought childline was for proper problems like being abused, beaten, bullied to the point of having a nervous breakdown... there was no childline when I was a kid.
And besides - why are kids calling childline for HP? Where are their parents? My kids would come to me and talk it over if they were upset. I thought you only called childline because you couldn't talk to your parents... ?
